About

The President's Commission on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, commonly known as the Warren Commission, was a federal investigative body established by President Lyndon B. Johnson on November 29, 1963, seven days after President Kennedy's death. It was chaired by Chief Justice Earl Warren and included Senator Richard Russell, Representative Hale Boggs, and former CIA Director Allen Dulles, among others. The Commission operated as an official U.S. government inquiry rather than as the work of a single author.
