人間の性は三位一体の像を帯びている。心のうちで、アウグスティヌスは存在、認識、愛の三位一体を見出す。私たちは確かに存在し、存在を知っており、この存在と知識喜爱的。この三つは内的、精神的、疑いようのないものである。外部のものについて欺かれていても、欺かれていれば私たちは存在するということを欺かれることはない。魂におけるこの三位一体は、神聖な三位一体の痕跡である。
